Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 2.5¢ to 236.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 30 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 2.9¢ to 235.6¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 2.2¢ to 236.7¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 249.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (243.3¢), Queensland (236.4¢), NSW/ACT (236.3¢), Victoria (235.2¢), Western Australia (235.1¢), and South Australia (234.5¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 230.1¢ a litre, followed by Perth (233.1¢), Sydney (235.2¢), Melbourne (235.4¢), Brisbane (236.8¢), Canberra (238.3¢), Darwin (239.2¢), and Hobart (243.7¢).
