Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 4.2¢ to 200.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 8 May, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 4.2¢ to 199.2¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 4.2¢ to 202.1¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 209.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (207.4¢), South Australia (202.3¢), Queensland (201.3¢), Victoria (201¢), NSW/ACT (200.5¢), and Western Australia (196.9¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 194.6¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (198.7¢), Sydney (198.8¢), Adelaide (199.3¢), Brisbane (201.7¢), Canberra (202.4¢), Darwin (202.4¢), and Hobart (207.6¢).
