The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 4¢ to 196.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 1 May, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 4.2¢ to 195¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 3.9¢ to 197.9¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 205.8¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (202.8¢), South Australia (197.6¢), Queensland (197.1¢), Victoria (196.8¢), NSW/ACT (196.4¢), and Western Australia (192.9¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 190.7¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (194¢), Sydney (194.2¢), Melbourne (194.6¢), Brisbane (197.7¢), Darwin (197.8¢), Canberra (198.4¢), and Hobart (203.3¢).
