The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 15¢ to 198.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 10 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 15.2¢ to 196.8¢ a litre, while the regional fell 14.7¢ to 200.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 209.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (203.7¢), Queensland (200.3¢), South Australia (199.7¢), NSW/ACT (198.7¢), Victoria (197.7¢), and Western Australia (196.1¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 193¢ a litre, followed by Perth (193.7¢), Sydney (193.9¢), Melbourne (196.5¢), Canberra (197.5¢), Brisbane (199.9¢), Darwin (202.5¢), and Hobart (205.4¢).
