The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 1.6¢ to 220¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 27 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 2.1¢ to 219¢ a litre, while the regional fell 1.3¢ to 220.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in Tasmania at 226.1¢ a litre, followed by Northern Territory (225.2¢), Queensland (220.8¢), Victoria (219.8¢), South Australia (219.6¢), NSW/ACT (219.2¢), and Western Australia (218.5¢).
Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 216.2¢ a litre, followed by Perth (216.6¢), Adelaide (218.2¢), Melbourne (218.7¢), Brisbane (221.6¢), Canberra (223.4¢), Darwin (223.5¢), and Hobart (228.2¢).
