The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 1.3¢ to 152.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 22 August, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 1.9¢ to 152.3¢ a litre, with the regional price staying at 151.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was the NT at 161.0¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (156.7¢), Tasmania (155.9¢), NSW/ACT (154.7¢), Western Australia (149.6¢), Victoria (149.5¢), and South Australia (140.1¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 136.7¢ a litre, followed by Perth (148.9¢), Melbourne (150.3¢), Darwin (151.7¢), Canberra (152.1¢), Hobart (155.5¢), Sydney (156.0¢), and Brisbane (159.2¢).
