Coles is supporting women in the workforce through a new partnership with Mentor Walks to provide accessible, quality mentoring to Australian women.
Mentor Walks is a national not-for-profit organisation which offers an “innovative and accessible” female mentoring program.
The program matches senior female leaders with aspiring women for a one-hour walk and conversation. Mentors and mentees connect, talk, walk, workshop issues and share insights related to their careers.
The new partnership will provide women across Australia, including more than 100 Coles team members, with mentoring opportunities and access to female leaders from Coles and other industries to guide their careers.
Coles General Manager Corporate Affairs Sally Fielke, who along with Chief People Officer Kris Webb will be among senior female leaders from Coles to become mentors, says the retailer is excited to partner with Mentor Walks to help women succeed at work.
“Coles is committed to working better together with the community and organisations like Mentor Walks to achieve a gender balanced workforce,” she says.
“Mentorship is vital in helping women to connect, work together overcome challenges, and succeed in their career goals.
“We are excited to be working with Mentor Walks to give our team members opportunities to learn from senior women outside of Coles, and to have Coles senior leaders share their knowledge and experience with a network of talented women across Australia.”
As part of the partnership, Coles will become Mentor Walks’ Melbourne Fresh Air Walk Partner and its National Virtual Partner.
