Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 1.8¢ to 141.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 30 May, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 2.6¢ to 142.1¢ a litre, with the regional price dropped by 0.2¢ to 140.8¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 150.1¢ a litre, followed by NSW/ACT (150.0¢), Tasmania (144.2¢), Victoria (140.6¢), Western Australia (139.8¢), Queensland (134.8¢), South Australia (130.1¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 127.1¢ a litre, followed by Brisbane (133.3¢), Perth (139.3¢), Darwin (139.9¢), Canberra (140.3¢), Melbourne (141.8¢), Hobart (145.0¢) and Sydney (155.8¢).
