Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 2.3¢ to 131.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 21 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 2.6¢ to 130.9¢ a litre, with the regional price rising by 1.4¢ to 131.6¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the NT at 140.4¢ a litre, followed by South Australia (138.0¢), Queensland (134.4¢), Tasmania (132.0¢), Western Australia (131.3¢), NSW/ACT (130.1¢), and Victoria (127.3¢).

Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 126.6¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (127.0¢), Darwin (129.6¢), Canberra (130.1¢), Perth (131.1¢), Hobart (131.3¢), Brisbane (137.4¢) and Adelaide (141.6¢).
