The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 0.2¢ to 119.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 17 January, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 0.4¢ to 119.1¢ a litre, with the regional price rising by 0.2¢ to 120.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 131.0¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (125.2¢), Western Australia (121.19¢), NSW/ACT (120.4¢), Victoria (118.3¢), Queensland (118.3¢), and South Australia (117.6¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 116.9¢ a litre, followed by Brisbane (117.7¢), Darwin (118.4¢), Sydney (119.0¢), Melbourne (119.1¢), Perth (121.6¢), Canberra (123.7¢) and Hobart (124.8¢).
