Australian fashion icon (and stylist) Lana Wilkinson recently launched the latest ESSENZA Sanpellegrino range at the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival. Ms Wilkinson spilled to Convenience World the details on the launch, and why it was her cup of (sparkling) tea!
Fashion to sparkling water – many would say that’s a big leap. What’s the connection for you between the two (if there is one)?
The stylish and sophisticated packaging coupled with the refreshing taste of the range makes it easy to marry with all things fashion. I’m also Italian and have always loved drinking the original Sanpellegrino mineral water, so when the opportunity for an alignment arose, I jumped at the chance to join forces with such a well-known and respected brand.
What appealed to you most about being an ambassador for the ESSENZA range?
The new S.Pellegrino Essenza range represents a stylish and refreshing touch of Italian taste, which I was immediately drawn to. The products look great. They are also made with natural ingredients, have zero calories and sugars making it ideal for drinking at work or in between jobs.
Do you have a favourite flavour from the new range? If so, please spill!
It’s so hard to choose just one… If I had to pick, I would say the Lemon & Lemon Zest flavour. I love that the citrus flavour isn’t too overpowering, and it leaves a fresh taste in your mouth.
How did the overall launch at Virgin Australia Fashion Festival go? What was the overall consensus from the crowd when they sampled the products?
The Virgin Australia Fashion Festival is always such an exciting time of the year. Creatives get to come together to showcase their latest work and designs, and this year I got to share the S.Pellegrino Essenza range with them. I think everyone loved the chance to socialise with one of the chic cans in hand. It quickly became another chance to accessorise as we realised we could match the drink with our outfits on the day.
What do you have planned for the future? Do you think being an ambassador for a retail product is something you will do again?
Absolutely! My role as a stylist has meant I align, support and promote retail brands and products every day.
My plan is to expand my footwear brand, Lana Wilkinson. I love the creative and design process and thrive on working through the marketing and retail strategies for my own brand. As always, I will continue to advocate for products that I currently use and love. I’m passionate about recommending and supporting brands and products that feel authentic to me and align with my personal brand.
