Weekly diesel prices

The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose by 1.7¢ to 149.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending September 29, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose by 1.7¢ to 147.5¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 1.7¢ to 150.4¢ a litre.

The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 161.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (159.8¢), South Australia (150.1¢), Western Australia (149.2¢), NSW/ACT (148.8¢), Queensland (148.3¢) and Victoria (147.7¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 146¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (146.3¢), Sydney (146.4¢), Perth (146.5¢), Melbourne (147.4¢), Brisbane (147.9¢) and Hobart (159.8¢).
