The average price of diesel fuel in Australia fell by 0.8¢ to 150.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending June 9, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell by 0.8¢ to 149.7¢ a litre, while the regional price fell by 0.7¢ to 151.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 163.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (160.6¢), WA (152.4¢), NSW/ACT (150.4¢), SA (150.3¢), Queensland (150.0¢) and Victoria (148.1¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 147.7¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (147.9¢), Darwin (148.4¢) Melbourne (148.5¢), Brisbane (150.4¢), Perth (150.7¢), Canberra (153.9¢) and Hobart (160.7¢).
