Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 1.2¢ to 160.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending October 28, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 1.4¢ to 160.5¢ a litre, with the regional price rising 0.7¢ to 160.4¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the NT at 171.3¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (164.4¢), Victoria (162.8¢), Queensland (160.1¢), WA (159.8¢), NSW/ACT (159.2¢) and SA (158.4¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 157.5¢ a litre, followed by Perth (158.1¢), Sydney (158.7¢), Brisbane (159.6¢), Darwin (163.2¢), Melbourne (164.2¢), Hobart (164.5¢) and Canberra (165.6¢).
