The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 0.8¢ to 144.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 11 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 1.3¢ to 147.4¢ a litre, with the regional price dropping by 0.2¢ to 138.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Victoria at 154.6¢ a litre, followed by the NT (149.6¢), Queensland (148.2¢), Tasmania (142.5¢), Western Australia (139.4¢), NSW/ACT (138.9¢), and South Australia (131.8¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 129.7¢ a litre, followed by Perth (139.3¢), Sydney (139.5¢), Darwin (139.8¢), Canberra (140.4¢), Hobart (142.9¢), Brisbane (152.7¢) and Melbourne (161.5¢).
