CONFECTIONERY EXPAND Violet Crumble now in white chocolate caramel Aussie classic Violet Crumble now comes in golden honeycomb covered in a creamy caramel flavoured white choc with the launch of Violet Crumble Caramel. What’s more it comes in bite-sized chunks. The South Australian confectioner Robern Menz decided on the caramel flavour after commissioning a study indicating that more than half of Aussies believe honeycomb and chocolate are “iconic” flavours of the past decade. “When we first trialled the new flavour combo we instantly knew we were on to something. You bite into that smooth caramel flavour, followed by the shattering sharpness of the honeycomb and it smells incredible,” Robern Menz CEO Phil Sims said. “It’s been a challenging year for all Australians, to say the least, and we know that our sweet flavour combinations offer some satisfying relief and escapism, bringing some fun back into the day and shattering cravings.” Allen's aligns with OAK for lolly aisle combo The sweet Allen’s Milk Bottle is now teamed up with OAK, for a “unique, thirst-quenching” confectionery combination. The new Milk Bottles come in two OAK inspired packs. The first is inspired by OAK classic flavours, including creamy Chocolate, sweet Strawberry and Vanilla Malt. The second package is a call to coffee lovers, featuring Milk Bottles inspired by OAK Iced Coffee. The new range aims to bring back memories and a sense of nostalgia to Aussies. Allen’s OAK inspired Milk Bottles mixed bag (RRP $2.99) is now available in the lolly aisle nationwide at Coles, Woolworths and independents. The Allen’s OAK inspired Iced Coffee bag (RRP $2.99) is available at Coles and independents only. Smarties with 'no artificials' Colourful confectionery treats of smooth milk chocolate covered in a colourful crisp sugar shell packaged in a share bag. What could it be? Smarties, of course. The confectionery “contains no artificial flavours or colours, and the cocoa used is UTZ certified sustainable”. RRP is $2 for the 50g carton and $2.95 for the 120g bag. Choosing Hi-Chews to go Tropical Hi-Chew has the Tropical Mix bag on offer. The Tropical Mix bag includes Melon, Mango and Banana flavours. The manufacturer says the flavours “will provide a tropical taste sensation like nothing experienced before”, which is why it’s “the number one soft candy in Japan.” The RRP for this “taste of the tropics” is $5. Cadbury offers Energy in recyclable packaging When Cadbury chocolatiers “harness pure chocolate power, they produce Energy blocks”. “Next they have to catch them. Bursting with vitality, they bounce all over the factory until special flying red wrappers fold over them and magically contain the rich, dark flavour.” The recyclable packaging for the bars is a shift in the direction of sustainable wrapping. FruChocs makes a GIANT comeback Robern Menz recently brought back the GIANT Menz FruChocs, which were a fan favourite back in the early 2010s but have not been widely available for a decade. The Menz GIANT FruChocs comes in a 350g pack and is about four times the size of an original Menz FruChoc. “We brought back the Menz GIANT FruChocs to commemorate World Chocolate Day on 7 July for exclusive sale until September in OTR stores in South Australia,” Robern Menz CEO Phil Sims said. The RRP for Menz GIANT FruChoc is $7.99. 64 CONVENIENCE WORLD SEP/OCT, 2020 your range
