HEALTHY OPTIONS EXPAND Say Halo to dairy-free ice cream The Halo Top team says consumers can eat a dessert they feel good about. With many different flavours on offer, the 260-360 calories per tub of Halo Top dairy-free ice cream is displayed on the packaging. “We know it sounds too good to be true, so don’t just take our word for it – dig in, and taste for yourself,” a spokesperson for Halo Top said. The ice creams (RRP $9) are available at Coles and Woolworths stores nationwide, and at selected independent supermarkets. Sugar-free ice cream ‘indulgence’ Denada is an Australian sugar-free ice cream brand with a range of all natural, zero-added-sugar ice cream. Denada says its fans, such as diabetics and “the keto crowd”, claim the product is a game changer because it’s low in carbs but “uncompromising in indulgent taste and creamy texture”. The range includes four dairy flavours (Vanilla, Mint Chip, Double Choc, and Peanut Butter) and two vegan flavours (Salted Caramel, and Espresso Choc Fudge). These ice cream products (RRP $12) are stocked in Coles and 450 independents, including IGA, Harris Farm Markets and Go Vita. 46 CONVENIENCE WORLD SEP/OCT, 2020 Singling out high protein, low sugar The new range of three FroPro sugar- free, chocolate-coated Singles include the dairy Double Chocolate and Salted Caramel and the plant-based Classic Vanilla Single containing 150 calories and less than 3g sugar per Single. Following the success of high protein, low sugar options in confectionery and health bars throughout P&C, FroPro Singles present the opportunity to capture new and lapsed customers in the ‘unhealthy impulse’ freezer.
