Evie Networks opened its first ultra fast EV charging station at Campbell Town, Tasmania. EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW What's next for Evie Networks in the outlook for the rest of the year? We have plans to build a highway- based network and a metropolitan- based network. Our highway-based network is 42 locations that starts from Far North Queensland near Cairns and runs down the east coast, down the Bruce Highway through Brisbane, down the Pacific Highway to Sydney, the Hume Highway to Melbourne, and then out to the Western Highway to Adelaide. We also have three sites planned for Tasmania, one of which is now operational in Campbell Town, which links to Hobart. Then we have four sites planned for South Australia, and three sites planned for Perth. In all those sites, we’ll have the 350kW charges so that people can be on the road quicker – the breaks are as short a time as possible, so drivers don't have really extended drives to get between capital cities. We’ll continue to expand that with the 42 sites scheduled to be built between now and the end of 2022. Then we have the metropolitan sites. Our phase one plan is to roll out sites between Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Firstly, our aim is to make sure that no matter where you are in each of those capital cities, you're within 10-15 minutes of publicly available fast chargers. The aim is to provide a broad geographic coverage of the cities that gives people confidence to use their cars within the city no matter where they're driving. Secondly, we see the ride-sharing/ ride-hailing industry as being an effective first, introducing and advocating for EVs to the public. So, what we're trying to do is to promote the transition of ride-share drivers from leasing petrol cars to leasing EVs, through the building of the metropolitan networks in the three capital cities. Evie Networks and Puma Energy collaborate to roll out ultra-fast EV charging stations. It's a great opportunity for people to be introduced to EVs, because there are a lot of myths about what an electric car can and can't do. Here's a great opportunity for people to be introduced to them when they’re thinking about the next car purchase. They can make a more informed decision. There are many other site hosts with strong sustainability objectives to achieve within their organisations. They’re firm believers in the benefits of the transition to EVs.
