WHAT’S NEW ‘LASTING FLAVOUR’ BY GUM Stride is promising a “new take on chewing gum with vibrant long-lasting flavours packed into each piece, so you can enjoy wave after wave of flavour”. Exclusive to Coles and Coles Express, Stride is available in four “brilliantly bold” flavours: Mango Peach, Lime Passionfruit, Lemonade and Cool Peppermint. The new product retails at $3 per 37.8g bottle. PEANUT BUTTER AND CHOCOLATE COMBO Pic’s Peanut Butter has brought its new Peanut & Chocolate Butter to Australia. Said to be “crafted with the best, premium chocolate the world has to offer”, the new Pic’s Peanut & Chocolate Butter is a combination of Pic’s “crunchy” peanuts with a mix of Whittaker’s Creamy Milk & Dark Ghana Chocolate. The product, says the brand, can be enjoyed straight from the jar with a spoon, spread on favourite bread, scooped into baked treat recipes, or lathered on fresh fruit. The 290g jar ($9) is available from all Coles, Woolworths and independent stores nationwide. KIDS’ CEREAL ADDRESSES PARENT CONCERNS Sanitarium Health Food Company has launched a dedicated breakfast cereal for children aged one to five years. Weet-Bix Little Kids Essentials is promoted as a “uniquely formulated” breakfast cereal “recommended by nine out of 10 kids’ dietitians”, with a 5-star Heath Star Rating, and made from 97 per cent Australian wholegrains (wheat, rye and sorghum). The product is also said to be high in iron, low in sugar and contain no added salt. To create Weet-Bix Little Kids Essentials, Sanitarium canvassed 1200 new parents to better understand their biggest concerns about their child’s diet and overall health. Their input, says the company, helped build an ideal breakfast cereal for toddlers and pre-schoolers, right down to the nutrients that mattered to parents including fibre, calcium and iron. HIPPO-SHAPED BISCUITS Kinder Happy Hippo, promoted as a “global family favourite”, has hit shelves in Australia. The “cute-as-can-be” hippo-shaped biscuits feature a crispy wafer shell with a “super creamy and smooth” filling, dipped in crunchy meringue sprinkles. Kinder Happy Hippo is available in the variants of Cocoa and Hazelnut. The product is now ranged at leading supermarkets and convenience stores nationwide (RRP $1 for a single pack, $4.50 for a five-pack). MAY/JUN, 2021 CONVENIENCE WORLD 21
