ICE CREAM EXPAND Looking new and looking back Golden North has relaunched its Giant Twins brand with a few “exciting changes”. These include reintroducing the indent on the bars so consumers can #SnapAndShare, launching premium new packaging, and bringing in three new flavours: Strawberry, Banana and Spearmint. The new flavours were launched at head office as a limited edition in 2017-18, selling out in less than a week, according to Golden North. With constant requests from Facebook fans to bring back these flavours, the South Australian based company opted to launch them in supermarkets with the support of local retailers. The restored bar indent echoes traditional production methods – the ice cream being frozen overnight in baking trays with indents in the middle – and makes the product perfect for sharing, Golden North says. The Giant Twins Ice Cream Bar Multipack (5x150ml) retails at $8.50. Trio of tastes in a tub Harry’s Ice Cream has introduced Chocolate Peanut Butter & Fudge to its range. The manufacturer has also updated its tubs, which feature a bright and colourful new look and packaging, and are claimed to be easier to recycle. Other flavours in the range made from Australian dairy include Triple Choc Brownie, Salted Caramel Fudge and Peppermint Brownie. “Our Harry’s fans told us they love our chocolate-based flavours, so we’ve added creamy chocolate ice cream to our popular peanut butter fudge to create a brand new product in our indulgent range,” Harry & Larry’s owner Lawrence Harris said. Harry’s Ice Cream products are available from Woolworths and selected IGA and Foodland stores. Harry’s Chocolate Peanut Butter & Fudge comes in a 475ml tub (RRP $6). Dandy Cup supermarket special Golden North recently launched its classic Vanilla Ice Cream Dandy Cups in a multipack of six, specifically for supermarkets. Every cup comes with a spoon under the lid and is said to be perfectly portioned for the whole family to enjoy. Golden North says this award-winning ice cream in the Simply Indulge range combines both quality and convenience, enabling consumers to “simply indulge” in “hassle-free creamy goodness”. The product, promoted as nut, gluten and palm oil free, is aimed at sharing occasions such as parties and other gatherings. The Simply Indulge Dandy Cups Multipack (Vanilla Ice Cream) comes in six 125ml recyclable cups (RRP $8.50). Get ‘real’ with probiotic yoghurt Twisted Minis Frozen Yoghurt Strawberry & Vanilla Bean and Chocolate & Vanilla Bean are said to be made with “real” probiotic yoghurt. The wholly Australian dairy product is promoted as containing 95 calories per cup, being gluten free and 98 per cent fat free, and including live and active cultures. The product comes in a mini multipack of four 120ml tubs (RRP $7). 52 CONVENIENCE WORLD JAN/FEB, 2021 your range
