Coles CEO Steven Cain The 2020 financial year was an extraordinary one for Coles and the whole Australian community, as together we faced the challenges of drought, bushfires and the Covid-19 pandemic. As part of the four-year transformation strategy we set out in June 2019, we declared our purpose is to sustainably feed all Australians to help them lead healthier, happier lives. In 2020, we played an important role, not just in keeping Australians supplied with food, beverages and fuel, but in supporting the economy through the employment of 118,000 team members and hundreds of thousands more who work for the businesses supplying and supporting us. Over the year we’ve also made substantial progress in transforming our business. We executed one of the largest range updates in Coles’ history, introducing more than 1600 TO PAGE 8 Kate Thomson 2020 has been an equally challenging and exciting year, as we dealt with the onset of Covid-19, while at the same time achieving some important milestones in our business.
