EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW METCASH EVOLUTION BODES WELL FOR NEW AND EXISTING PARTNERSHIPS Metcash Food Merchandise Director Grant Ramage spoke to Convenience World’s Lorna Gloria about the transformation of the business and its approach to suppliers. How is Metcash changing its approach to business with suppliers? As a smaller player in the market, we at Metcash Food believe that the path to success with suppliers is to partner with them and work collaboratively on plans that deliver the best possible results for our independent customers. We’ve been listening to what suppliers have been telling us about the things that get in the way, and then taking action to address these issues. A great example is that we’ve designed an entirely new trading- terms framework that’s fit for purpose for today’s business: simpler, transparent, embedding the principle of mutuality, and structured to enable growth.
