What cafes are doing during COVID-19 pandemic

Last week we received news of some cafes both in Australia and internationally banning the reusable cup.

As the weeks go on, more precautions are being undertaken by different retail and consumer businesses.

Other cafes including Espresso Engine have made the decision to go cash-less in an attempt to maintain team members and customer healthy and safety.

The Coffee Club Australia today posted on their Stockland Burleigh social media stating:

While we always have rigorous food safety and hygiene programs in place, we are taking additional steps to ensure you feel comfortable when visiting our stores. This includes increased frequency of surface sanitisation, temporarily restricting the use of reusable cups, as well as a review of store layouts and the configuration of tables to abide by social distancing guidelines.

With many cafes taking a similar approach, others have had to close operations altogether.

Squeeze Health Café wrote:

Unfortunately Squeeze will be closed until further notice. The sudden dramatic drop in customers is just not sustainable for such a small operation. Thank you to my super regulars who have continued to try and keep me afloat.
