The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 1.6¢ to 183.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 9 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 2.2¢ to 184.7¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.4¢ to 181.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 197.1¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (193.7¢), Tasmania (186.1¢), NSW/ACT (183.7¢), Victoria (180.3¢), Western Australia (179.5¢), and South Australia (173.9¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 171.8¢ a litre, followed by Perth (178.1¢), Melbourne (181.5¢), Darwin (182¢), Hobart (184¢), Sydney (184.4¢), Canberra (193.6¢), and Brisbane (198.9¢).
