Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 1.2¢ to 108.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending May 31, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped by 1.9¢ to 107.3¢ a litre, with the regional price rising by 0.3¢ to 111.3¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Northern Territory at 124.4¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (120.8¢), South Australia (116.4¢), Western Australia (111.1¢), NSW/ACT (107.8¢), Victoria (106.6¢), and Queensland (106.0¢).

Of the major cities, Brisbane offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 104.6¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (105.0¢), Melbourne (106.0¢), Perth (108.9¢), Canberra (109.2¢), Darwin (109.9¢), Adelaide (118.6¢), and Hobart (120.5¢).
