Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 1.7¢ to 131.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending March 22, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose by 4.6¢ to 130.2¢ a litre, with the regional price dropping by 4.2¢ to 132.9¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Tasmania at 150.4¢ a litre, followed by Northern Territory (145.1¢), Queensland (135.4¢), NSW/ACT (135.3¢), Victoria (127.3¢), Western Australia (126.8¢), and South Australia (114.2¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 107.0¢ a litre, followed by Perth (122.9¢), Melbourne (126.0¢), Darwin (131.8¢), Brisbane (136.9¢), Sydney (138.5¢), Canberra (140.3¢), and Hobart (150.5¢).
