Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 3.7¢ to 134.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending December 2, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 3.6¢ to 129.1¢ a litre, with the regional price falling 4¢ to 144.2¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the NT at 162.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (157.9¢), WA (140.9¢), Queensland (135.1¢), NSW/ACT (133.4¢), SA (129.7¢) and Victoria (129.5¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 125.3¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (123.5¢), Melbourne (125.7¢), Brisbane (130.3¢), Perth (137.2¢), Darwin (153.1¢), Canberra (158.7¢) and Hobart (159.1¢).
