Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.3¢ to 190.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 9 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.2¢ to 188.8¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.1¢ 191.5¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 208.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (192.4¢), Queensland (191.4¢), Victoria (190.3¢), NSW/ACT (190.1¢), South Australia (187.5¢), and Western Australia (187.1¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 183.1¢ a litre, followed by Perth (183.9¢), Darwin (186.9¢), Sydney (187.7¢), Melbourne (188.7¢), Hobart (191.6¢), Brisbane (192.2¢), and Canberra (196.5¢).
