Weekly diesel prices

The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose 3.4¢ to 171.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 6 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 3.4¢ to 170.5¢ a litre, while the regional rose 3.4¢ to 171.6¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 184.8¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (179.4¢), South Australia (171.1¢), Queensland (170.9¢), NSW/ACT (170.7¢), Victoria (170.2¢), and Western Australia (170.2¢)

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 165.5¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (169.3¢), Melbourne (169.7¢), Adelaide (169.9¢), Brisbane (171.7¢), Canberra (173.6¢), Darwin (176.3¢), and Hobart (180.6¢).
