Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 4.8¢ to 235.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 3 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 5.2¢ to 234.3¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 4.5¢ to 236.5¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 243.8¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (243.1¢), Victoria (236.5¢), South Australia (236¢), NSW/ACT (235.5¢), Queensland (235.3¢), and Western Australia (231.8¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 229.6¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (233.5¢), Adelaide (234.4¢), Brisbane (235¢), Darwin (235.5¢), Melbourne (236.6¢), Canberra (236.9¢), and Hobart (242.7¢).
