Weekly diesel prices

The average price of diesel fuel in Australia fell 0.1¢ to 163.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 28 November, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.2¢ to 163¢ a litre, while the regional fell 0.1¢ to 164.2¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 176.4¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (172.1¢), Western Australia (164.2¢), Queensland (163.6¢), NSW/ACT (163.2¢), Victoria (162.5¢), and South Australia (161.6¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 159¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (160.8¢), Melbourne (162¢), Perth (163.2¢), Brisbane (164.1¢), Darwin (165.4¢), Canberra (167¢), and Hobart (174.8¢).
