Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 0.2¢ to 192.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 24 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.2¢ to 190.8¢ a litre, while the regional remained at 194¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 204.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (197.1¢), Queensland (194.1¢), South Australia (193.3¢), Victoria (192.4¢), NSW/ACT (192¢), and Western Australia (188.7¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 186.2¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (186.4¢), Sydney (188.6¢), Melbourne (190.5¢), Canberra (193.4¢), Brisbane (194.7¢), Darwin (196.5¢), and Hobart (198.3¢).
