Weekly diesel prices

The average price of diesel fuel in Australia dipped slightly by 0.2¢ to 154.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending June 24, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell by 0.1¢ to 154.9¢ a litre, with the regional price falling 0.2¢ to 153.7¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the NT at 166.3¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (161¢), WA (156.5¢), Queensland (153.8¢), Victoria (153.5¢), NSW/ACT (153.1¢) and SA (151.7¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 148.9¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (151.6¢), Melbourne (155.1¢), Brisbane (155.5¢), Darwin (155.7¢), Perth (156.3¢), Canberra (157¢) and Hobart (160.9¢).
