Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 6.5¢ to 192.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 17 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 6.2¢ to 190.6¢ a litre, while the regional fell 6.7¢ to 194¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 204.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (197.1¢), Queensland (194.3¢), South Australia (192.3¢), NSW/ACT (191.8¢), Victoria (191.8¢), and Western Australia (189¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 181.4¢ a litre, followed by Perth (186.6¢), Sydney (187.4¢), Melbourne (190.4¢), Canberra (193.1¢), Brisbane (194.5¢), Darwin (196.5¢), and Hobart (198.7¢).
