Weekly diesel prices

The average price of diesel fuel in Australia dropped 0.2¢ to 149.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending November 10, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell by 0.3¢ to 148.2¢ a litre, while the regional price dropped 0.2¢ to 150.6¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in Tasmania at 160.3¢a litre, followed by the NT (160.4¢) South Australia (149.7¢), Western Australia (149.6¢), NSW/ACT (149.4¢), Queensland (149.0¢) and Victoria (147.7¢).

Of the major cities, Darwin offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 144.8¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (145.1¢), Sydney (146.9¢), Perth (147.3¢), Melbourne (147.8¢), Brisbane (149.2¢) and Hobart (161.5¢).
