Weekly diesel prices

The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose 0.2¢ to 163.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 14 November, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose by 0.2¢ to 163.1¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 0.1¢ to 164.3¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 176.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (171.1¢), Western Australia (164.3¢), Queensland (163.7¢), NSW/ACT (163.2¢), Victoria (162.7¢), and South Australia (162.2¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 159.2¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (161.1¢), Melbourne (162¢), Perth (163.2¢), Brisbane (164.1¢), Darwin (165.6¢), Canberra (166.9¢), and Hobart (173.3¢).
