The Café Conversations Project

Cafés are a public space, serving as a hub for communities that offer a comfortable environment for socialising.

For this year’s Neighbour Day, the theme is Social Connection.

What is Neighbour Day?

Neighbour Day is held on the last Sunday of every March (this year being held on March 29).

It’s Australia’s annual celebration of community, encouraging people to connect with those who live in their neighbourhood.

The Café Conversations Project invites local cafes across Australia to host structured or unstructured Neighbour Day activities in March 2020, to help create connections in their local community.

Café Conversations Project ideas

Local cafés could hold a Speed Friending event, Connect discussions, or simply provide customers with Conversation Cards, to get people talking.

Participating in discussion activities will cause positive publicity for cafés, attract new customers, and ensure that your café is eligible to enter The Café Conversations Project competition to win Neighbour Day prizes.
