Petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia decreased by 3.2¢ to 120.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending July 3, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleums Weekly Petrol Pricesreport.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price decreased 4.2¢ to 118.8¢ a litre, with the regional price decreasing 1.1¢ to 123.9¢ a litre.

The most expensive fuel in the country was in Tasmania at 125.5¢ a litre followed by WA (123.9¢), the NT (122.5¢), NSW/ACT (122.2¢), Queensland (121.6¢), Victoria (117.4¢) and SA (114.1¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 112.8¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (116.4¢), Brisbane (119¢), Sydney (119.6¢), Darwin (120.5¢), Perth (123.2¢), Hobart (125.2¢) and Canberra (129¢).
