On 1 August, SPAR Express Orange celebrated their official opening.

With plenty of hand sanitiser at the ready, the show went on, including balloons for the kids and the local MP Phil Donato cutting the ribbon.

The store formerly known as Jack’s Corner Store, was purchased by brothers Mani and Manjit Singh, and their family. Since purchasing the store the Singh family have continued to renovate and improve the offer.

SPAR Express Orange has expanded its grocery, dairy and frozen foods range, including fresh produce, meat and added in a number of Food to Go solutions.

Mani’s goal is to create a one stop shop for the community, saying “customer’s perception is changing now, from seeing us as just a corner store to a supermarket”.

Mani adds that, “some people have told me they don’t need to go to town anymore, so they are very happy with what we are doing.”

When asked about the future plans for the store, he says: “SPAR is a big chain and they see the opportunity here. I wanted to set up this store properly and it will take time, but then I would love to open another store around this area”.

SPAR Express Orange is located at 28 Moulder Street and will trade seven days a week, Monday to Saturday 6am-7pm, and Sunday 7am-6pm.
