Cadbury introduces Easter range

Cadbury has launched its 2024 Easter range, also announcing changes to packaging hoped to drive “major savings” in plastic and cardboard.

This year’s seasonal range features six new products as well as the classics Australians “know and love”.

Among the new products is the Cadbury Bubbly Mint Bunny, offering an “indulgent” twist to classic Easter chocolate with its “smooth and creamy” milk chocolate enrobing a “light, airy and bubbly” mint centre. This product is available in a single 32g format (RRP $2.20), a 228g gift box (RRP $12), and a 192g multipack (RRP $8).

Lolly lovers can indulge this Easter in the Cadbury Pascall Clinkers Easter Bunny (160g, RRP $6.70), a product blending the “smoothness” of Cadbury Dairy Milk milk chocolate with the “iconic” crunch of Pascall Clinkers candy pieces.

Cadbury is also joining forces with The Natural Confectionery Co. and Sour Patch Kids, creating two gift boxes (160g, RRP $10) that are promoted as being “perfect” for anyone craving a “sweet or sour adventure for their tastebuds”. Each box features a milk chocolate hollow Easter Egg paired with two “treat size” lolly bags.

Packaging promises

Australia’s “family favourite” Cadbury Hollow Hunting Egg plastic crates will move to 12 and 24 pack cardboard cartons, expected to save 131,000kg of plastic.

Meanwhile, the plastic blister and excess cardboard in some Cadbury Easter Gift Boxes will also be removed, expected to save over 200,000kg of packaging.

“This is one of the biggest and boldest packaging changes we’ve ever made to our Easter range,” says Mondelēz International Vice President Marketing Ben Wicks.

“Over the last two years, we have been working hard to re-design our packaging footprint, preserve the taste and quality of our Easter products, and deliver a positive change for Cadbury fans.

“The move forms part of Mondelēz International’s commitment to make its packaging better for people and planet, through reducing packaging, evolving packaging, and improving recycling systems.”
