Arnott’s increases food donations to those in need

Arnott’s is donating $350,000 worth of product to help Foodbank support Australians facing hardship, as a result of COVID-19.

Panic-buying in supermarkets has meant that stock is at an all-time low. The Chief Executive of Foodbank Australia, Brianna Casey says there has been a 50% increase in demand for food relief earlier this month, but its supplies were down by 27%.

“The side-effects of the current coronavirus health crisis mean more Australians than ever are facing a struggle to make ends meet day-to-day. We are exceptionally grateful for Arnott’s long-term support over the past 10 years and know that this donation, in particular, will have a large impact in the lives of those that really need it.”

Arnott’s donation to help those financially impacted by the global pandemic will be distributed by Foodbank throughout Victoria and NSW.

Arnott’s has also donated 752 food pouches to the local government at the location of each of their Arnott’s bakeries and head office to help support the local communities in which they operate. These pouches include individually wrapped Tim Tam biscuits and will be distributed to front-line workers such as teachers, aged care workers and healthcare workers.

“Arnott’s is incredibly proud to be in a position to support our communities and the everyday Aussies who have been impacted by the bushfires and Coronavirus. That includes frontline workers but also families and people who are doing it tough as we face the road to economic recovery ahead,” says Arnott’s CEO, George Zoghbi.

This recent donation follows the $100,000 product donation Arnott’s made to those impacted by the recent bushfires.
