APCO celebrates trifecta win

APCO Service Stations and its cafe24-7 brand took home three awards at an industry awards ceremony held last week.

APCO cafe24-7 was awarded ‘Excellence in Food & Coffee Offer Development’, while APCO Alfredton, Ballarat, was named Independent Store of the Year and Overall Store of the Year at the Australian Association of Convenience Stores (AACS) Gala Dinner & Award Ceremony.

Point of differentiation

The Cafe24-7 brand is a real point of differentiation for APCO, offering great ambience along with freshly made hot and cold on-the-go meals and snacks throughout the day. Customers can launch their day with ready-to-go breakfast products, and quality freshly-packed salads, sandwiches, rolls, wraps and focaccia’s for lunch. It also caters for evening take-home and eat-in meal solutions.

“Our Excellence in Food & Coffee offer Development award has been 30 years of evolving, changing and striving to be the leaders in what we do,” says Kellie Struth, Senior Executive Category and Marketing at APCO Service Stations.

All cafe24-7 stores, within 27 APCO stores have professionally trained baristas to make the perfect coffee each and every time. The brand strives to create a coffee experience that rivals that of Melbourne’s top cafes and through the process partnered with Gigante Coffee, a third generation family bean roaster, to develop two coffee blends that deliver outstanding and consistent flavour. The award-winning blends were developed with a careful selection of green beans sourced from the Congo Estate out of Papua New Guinea.

Strong start for Alfredton

Opening just over a year ago, APCO Alfredton is one of the largest footprints of APCO’s network. It offers a terrific combination of an IGA X-press with very competitive pricing for everyday supermarket grocery items, an expanded fresh food dynamic including deli and gourmet foods, with a captivating cafe24-7 barista coffee bar and cafe quality foods.

APCO Alfredton Retailers Olivia and Ivor Riesewyk couldn’t believe their year of hard work paid off double, taking home both the Independent Store of the Year and Overall Store of the Year awards.

“Alfredton’s achievement is a testament to the outstanding contribution our teams make to the business,” says Robert Anderson, APCO Director.

“Ideas are nothing without the cooperation of passionate people willing to go the extra yards to achieve great results.”

Peter Anderson, APCO Director agrees.

“We’ve achieved these awards because of our people and what they all do. We are incredibly grateful for everyone’s efforts,” he says.
