A new plant-milk to go nuts over

A new range of plant-based milks are on the block (the shelf), priding itself in its flavour, versatility and sustainability.

NuYu, made in South Australia includes a range of Almond, Oat, Macadamia, Cashew and Pistachio milks with a shelf life of 9 months.

“We are excited to provide people with a healthy plant-milk range that supports 90% Australian ingredients, with 100% Australian oats, almond and macadamias used,” says NuYu Assistant Brand Manager, Amelia Wright.

74% of people who are currently avoiding milk and dairy are doing so due to gastrointestinal problems, says a CSIRO survey.

“People opting for a dairy alternative will perceive this as a positive choice and feel confident knowing there is no compromise on quality, function or flavour… Why settle for good, when you can feel great?” continues Ms Wright.

The NuYu range contains no added colours, sweeteners or artificial flavours. It’s also free from GMOs and ranks a 3.5 star health rating for Almond, Macadamia and Cashew, and a 4 star for Pistachio and Oat.

“The NuYu range is multi-purpose and promotes different usages to suit personal health or taste preferences.”

Ms Wright says that, “The Almond, Cashew and Macadamia are considered ‘Barista Blends’ which means they are formulated to froth and mix well with coffee, whereas Pistachio works best in hot chocolates and chais.”

Additionally, NuYu is actively working towards making their packaging sustainable by switching to a material that is a minimum of 30% recycled plastic (RPET).

“We are passionate about closing the gap between chilled and ambient plant-milks and we are proud to offer versatility, functionality, convenience and sustainability.”

NuYu plant-milks are available in the life-long section at independent retailers, IGAs, Foodworks, Foodlands and Drakes.
