Global sustainable packaging enterprise, BioPak, has today unveiled a new leaf Nature Series in partnership with Rainforest Rescue to celebrate some of Australia’s most unique and diverse plants – giving the iconic Leaf BioCup a new look.
Launched ahead of World Rainforest Day (June 22), the new BioPak leaf cup Nature Series features changing designs that document the wonders of the trees planted to rehabilitate biodiverse areas, starting with three leaf designs: Ylang Ylang, Bleeding Heart, and Flame Tree.
The Leaf BioCup, originally launched by BioPak in 2006, marked the company’s first foray into sustainable cup design. Nearly two decades later, BioPak has transformed this pioneering product into a dynamic Nature Series in collaboration with Rainforest Rescue.
“We are truly proud to bring this concept to life and to celebrate and raise awareness of the precious plants and ecosystems that exist on our great planet,” said BioPak CEO Gary Smith.
“At BioPak, a core part of our purpose and ‘why’ is underpinned by community, and we are delighted to collaborate with Rainforest Rescue as part of this project to help share our commitment to the planet with coffee lovers across Australia.”
Speaking of the collaboration, Rainforest Rescue CEO Branden Barber commented on the significance of this new Nature Series and its purpose to help reach more people across Australia.
“At Rainforest Rescue, our goal is to protect and restore rainforests, and we hope this new series can spark conversations, build on knowledge and encourage people to support the protection of rainforests and biodiversity.”
BioPak has been donating 1% of profits to Rainforest Rescue since 2012. To date, their donations have helped secure, rescue and replant land in the Daintree Rainforest in Australia, helping to protect the unique flora and fauna of this biodiverse and fragile ecosystem.
This ongoing cup project highlights the wonders of trees, showcasing the beauty of nature and emphasising the positive impact of reforestation efforts on restoring ecological balance.
The new leaf series will be available to cafes and businesses across Australia later in the year.
