The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 2.7¢ to 195.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 18 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 4¢ to 195.9¢ a litre, while the regional price remained at 195.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in South Australia at 205.6¢ a litre, followed by the Northern Territory (204.7¢), Tasmania (197.4¢), NSW/ACT (195.9¢), Victoria (195.8¢), Queensland (193.8¢), and Western Australia (190.2¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 188.6¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (190.6¢), Sydney (193.6¢), Brisbane (193.6¢), Melbourne (197¢), Hobart (197.1¢), Adelaide (210.5¢), and Canberra (210.9¢).
