The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 1.2¢ to 198.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 11 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.3¢ to 199.9¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 4¢ to 195.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 204.2¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (203.8¢), NSW/ACT (200.8¢), Queensland (196.4¢), Tasmania (195.5¢), Western Australia (189.7¢), and South Australia (188.6¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 187.7¢ a litre, followed by Perth (188.3¢), Darwin (191¢), Hobart (195.4¢), Brisbane (197.9¢), Sydney (201.8¢), Melbourne (208.2¢), and Canberra (209.4¢).
