Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 0.7¢ to 142.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 6 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 1.0¢ to 143.1¢ a litre, with the regional price rose by 1.0¢ to 140.9¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 150.2¢ a litre, followed by NSW/ACT (146.1¢), Tasmania (144.9¢), Queensland (143.2¢), South Australia (143.0¢), Western Australia (139.7¢), Victoria (137.5¢).

Of the major cities, Melbourne offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 137.8¢ a litre, followed by Perth (139.2¢), Darwin (139.8¢), Canberra (140.3¢), Adelaide (144.4¢), Hobart (145.2¢), Brisbane (145.7¢) and Sydney (148.7¢).
