Weekly diesel prices

The average price of diesel fuel in Australia fell by 0.1¢ to 118.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 11 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price stayed at 117.6¢ a litre, while the regional price fell by 0.2¢ to 120.0¢ a litre.

The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 135.2¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (130.5¢), Victoria (119.0¢), Western Australia (118.8¢), NSW/ACT (118.5¢), South Australia (118.1¢) and Queensland (117.2¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 110.8¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (115.4¢), Perth (116.6¢), Darwin (116.9¢), Brisbane (117.6¢), Melbourne (118.4¢), Canberra (121.1¢) and Hobart (133.3¢).
