The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 6.3¢ to 122.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 30 August, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 9.2¢ 125.0¢ a litre, with the regional price rose by 0.4¢ to 117.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Northern Territory at 130.2¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (124.6¢), NSW/ACT (124.3¢), Tasmania (124.2¢), Queensland (122.5¢), Western Australia (118.7¢), and South Australia (113.0¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 111.1¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (117.8¢), Perth (118.0¢), Canberra (122.1¢), Hobart (124.2¢), Brisbane (125.2¢), Melbourne (128.2¢), and Sydney (130.3¢).
