Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 6.6¢ to 100.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending April 26, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped by 6.5¢ to 96.2¢ a litre, with the regional price dropping by 6.8¢ to 109.6¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Northern Territory at 134.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (125.6¢), Western Australia (103.0¢), South Australia (101.3¢), NSW/ACT (100.5¢) Victoria (99.7¢), and Queensland (96.2¢).

Of the major cities, Brisbane offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 90.7¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (93.9¢), Melbourne (96.7¢), Perth (97.3¢), Adelaide (98.3¢), Canberra (116.8¢), Darwin (120.9¢), and Hobart (127.5¢).
